The Effectiveness Of Pop Song Media For Students' Writing Of Realistic Short Stories Junior High School

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe students' ability to write realistic short stories. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The data of this study are in the form of primary and secondary data. Primary data were taken directly from students' practice in writing realistic short stories, while secondary data were taken from several sources in the Batanghari University library and the provincial library. Data were collected using observation, interviews, exercises, and documentation. From the analysis, it shows that there are 5 students who fall into the very good criteria (interval up to 80), there are 21 students who fall into the good criteria (interval 70-79), there are 11 students who fall into the sufficient criteria (interval 60-69), and there is 1 student who falls into the below average criteria (interval up to 59). So, it can be concluded that students' ability to write realistic short stories falls into the good criteria with an interval of 70.
