Individual Characteristics, Work Motivation, And Employee Performance: A Mediation Study In An Organizational Context

The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of individual employee characteristics on employee performance both directly and indirectly through employee work motivation. The target population in this study were non-medical employees at the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) KH. Arif Daud Kuala Tungkal, West Tanjung Jabung Regency, totaling 54 employees. Because the population in this study was less than 100, the sampling technique in this study used saturated sampling, where the entire population in this study was used as a research sample. The approach in this study used a quantitative approach with a survey method and was analyzed using Path Analysis. The results of this study concluded several things, namely: 1) individual characteristics have a significant effect on employee work motivation; 2) individual characteristics have a significant effect on employee performance; 3) work motivation has a significant effect on employee performance; and 4) motivation is not able to mediate individual characteristics on employee performance.
