Abstract

Foot care with foot massage aims to relax peripheral blood vessels and increase distal blood flow. The problem faced is the number of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus with ineffective peripheral perfusion at Dr. Tanti Clinic, Banyuasin Regency. This study aims to determine the effect of foot care on ineffective peripheral perfusion in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at the clinic. This study applied a pre-experimental design with a population of 229 people and a sample of 15 people. The data collected included primary and secondary data. Data analysis was conducted using univariate and bivariate methods, and using the Wilcoxon statistical test. The results of univariate analysis showed the CRT value for peripheral perfusion in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus before foot care was 3.40, and after foot care was 1.67. Meanwhile, bivariate analysis resulted in a p value of 0.000. There is an effect of foot care on ineffective peripheral perfusion in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at the clinic of Dr. Tanti Banyuasin Regency. Nurses are expected to consider foot care as one of the interventions in treating patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus with ineffective peripheral perfusion problems.
