Abstract

Chronic kidney disease is a condition where kidney function decreases gradually and over a long period of time. Pathophysiological process in which kidney function decreases. Kidney function gradually decreases due to various factors and usually leads to kidney failure. It is estimated that around 1.5 million CKD patients undergo hemodialysis, with the incidence rate increasing by 8% every year. Patients with chronic kidney failure are particularly susceptible to fluid overload, which can cause problems such as edema, shortness of breath, malaise, and weight gain. This study aims to determine the relationship between compliance with fluid restrictions and the occurrence of fluid overload in chronic kidney failure patients in the hemodialysis room at Harapan and Doa Hospital, Bengkulu City. This research uses quantitative design with objective modeling methods and “cross-sectional” methods. Jumlah sampel yang yang yang semantah 40 Respondents. The research results showed that 25 respondents (62.5%) did not comply with fluid restrictions, while 25 respondents (62.5%) experienced excess fluid. With bivariate analysis, the p value was 0,009. There is a relationship between compliance with fluid restrictions and the incidence of fluid overload in patients with chronic kidney failure in the hemodialysis room at Harapan and Doa Hospital, Bengkulu City.
