THE EFFECT OF CHROMOTHERAPY ON REDUCING THE PERCEPTION OF VISUAL HALLUCINATIONS AT THE HOSPITAL SPECIAL MENTAL HOSPITAL SOEPRAPTO BENGKULU

Clients experiencing visual hallucinations often see someone standing behind them, even though no one is actually present. The objects they perceive can be items, lights, or shadows. Chromotherapy has the potential to balance the autonomic nervous system, which is crucial in managing chronic diseases and functional disorders. This study notes the presence of patients still experiencing visual hallucination issues at the Soeprapto Bengkulu Special Mental Hospital. The aim of this research is to evaluate the effect of Chromotherapy on reducing visual hallucination perception at Soeprapto Bengkulu Special Mental Hospital. The study employs a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design and a one-group pre-test post-test format. Sampling was done using purposive sampling with 10 participants. Data were analyzed using paired sample t-test, yielding a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The average level of visual hallucination before the intervention was 44.75, and after the intervention, it decreased to 37.70. The conclusion is that Chromotherapy has an impact on reducing visual hallucination perception at Soeprapto Bengkulu Special Mental Hospital. It is recommended that the hospital promote Chromotherapy to patients with visual hallucination disorders by using informative banners about the Chromotherapy procedure, designed in an engaging way to ensure patients easily understand the information.
