Dental and oral health problems of school-age children are still a concern, especially due to the lack of understanding and skills in good and correct tooth brushing practices. Health promotion using animated video media is considered an interesting and effective educational approach to encourage clean and healthy living behavior in children. This study aims to determine the effect of health promotion using animated videos on tooth brushing practices in grade V students at SDN 01 Kabawetan. This study used a pre-experimental design with a one-group approach pretest-pogst design. The research sample was all 24 grade V students of SDN 01 Kabawetan who were taken using the total sampling technique. The data collected included primary data and secondary data, then analyzed using univariate analysis and bivariate analysis, paired t-test statistical tests. The results of the univariate analysis obtained an average value of student tooth brushing practice before being given health promotion of 5.63 and increased to 8.12 after the intervention. The results of the bivariate analysis obtained a p-value of 0.000. Health promotion using animated videos is effective in improving tooth brushing practices in students. These findings can be the basis for developing health promotion media in elementary schools, with support from teachers, schools and parents in forming tooth brushing habits from an early age
