The initial survey of 10 medical records found that 6 records (60%) were complete and 4 records (40%) were incomplete. The incompleteness was caused by missing medical information, which affected the accuracy of diagnostic codes assigned by coders. Specifically, 5 records had incomplete anamnesis, 3 records had incomplete physical examination results, and 4 records had inaccurate laboratory results, which impacted the physician’s diagnosis and the diagnostic codes assigned by the coder. To determine the completeness of medical information for gastroenteritis cases in supporting the accuracy of diagnostic codes on medical resume sheets at RSUD Harapan dan Doa, Bengkulu City, in 2024. This study is an observational research with a descriptive quantitative design. The population and sample consisted of 140 inpatient medical records of gastroenteritis patients in 2024. Secondary data were collected through observation using a checklist sheet. The data were processed and analyzed using univariate analysis with frequency distribution. The study found that the completeness of anamnesis was 121(86,4%), physical examination 111(79,3%), laboratory examination 91(65%), and diagnostic confirmation 91(65%). The accuracy of gastroenteritis diagnostic coding was only 91(65%). It is recommended that coding officers pay greater attention to supporting documents when assigning diagnosis codes, participate in coding training, and develop standard operating procedures (SOP) for coding based on case types.
2025-12-09T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Ilmu Kesehatan https://journal.bengkuluinstitute.com/index.php/JURIK/article/view/1786 Design of a Website-Based Non-National Health Insurance Patient Registration Aplikasi at Mutiara Pratama Clinic 2026-01-08T01:29:46+00:00 Reski Noviana rezkinoviana11@gmail.com Ismail Arifin ismailarifin59@gmail.com Nofri Heltiani nofrihelti11@gmail.com

The registration process for Non-JKN patients at the Mutiara Pratama Clinic is still done manually, causing long queues, delays in service, and the risk of identity recording errors. The absence of a digital queue system also requires patients to arrive early to get a queue number. The purpose of this study is to design and build a website-based application system that can manage non-National Health Insurance (JKN) patient data, especially in the registration section effectively, efficiently, and in a structured manner at the Mutiara Pratama Clinic. This type of research is qualitative using the waterfall method with 1 registration officer as the research subject and the research object is the design of a patient registration application with a waterfall approach. The data used are primary data with the instruments used being interviews and tape recorders, then the data is processed and analyzed by describing the data that has been obtained from the economic aspect and evaluating the suitability of the Non-JKN patient registration application and the design of the website-based application. The research results show that the resulting application has login and registration features, a patient registration form, automatic queue numbers, proof of registration printing, and an admin dashboard. The system is built with a client-server architecture using PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap. Implementation shows that the application is able to simplify registration, speed up services, and reduce recording errors. The Mutiara Pratama Clinic is expected to utilize this application optimally with the support of computer devices, a stable internet network, and a data backup system, along with regular training for staff so that the application can run as needed.

2025-12-04T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Ilmu Kesehatan https://journal.bengkuluinstitute.com/index.php/JURIK/article/view/1812 Application of Orem's Self-Care Theory in Nursing Care of Children with Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS) in the NICU Room at Dr. Myunus Bengkulu Regional Hospital 2026-02-22T02:58:35+00:00 Liza Putri lizaputri363@gmail.com Siska Iskandar Siska.flonfel@gmail.com Ismail Arifin ismailarifin@stikessaptabakti.ac.id
Neonatal Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS) is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in neonates, especially premature infants, in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Nursing care based on Dorothea Orem's Self-Care Deficit Nursing Theory can help nurses identify self-care needs and increase family independence and involvement in care. Objective: To assess the effectiveness of Orem's Self-Care Theory in providing nursing care to children with RDS in the NICU at Myunus Hospital, Bengkulu. Methods: A quasi-experimental study using a pre-test and post-test approach involved 40 neonates with RDS divided into an intervention group (Orem's theory) and a control group (standard care). Data were collected from clinical records, observations of parental self-care, and NOC nursing outcome scores. Results: The intervention group demonstrated a significant improvement in parental independence scores for nursing self-care (e.g., nutrition provision, home oxygen management) compared to the control group on day 7 (p < 0.05). Significant improvements were also seen in clinical parameters such as respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, and duration of NICU stay. Conclusion: The application of Orem's Self-Care theory improves the quality of nursing care for children with RDS in the NICU through parental empowerment, which impacts infant outcomes.
Keywords: Orem's Self-Care, Respiratory Distress Syndrome, NICU, pediatric nursing.

2026-02-22T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Ilmu Kesehatan https://journal.bengkuluinstitute.com/index.php/JURIK/article/view/1077 RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN NURSES CARING AND PATIENT SATISFACTION LEVEL IN THE MELATI INPATIENT ROOM OF RAFLESIA HOSPITAL, BENGKULU CITY 2026-04-18T13:47:01+00:00 Sinta Indah Sari ssintaindahsari01@gmail.com
One of the main reasons why caring affects patient satisfaction is because caring attitudes can increase patient comfort and security. The formulation of the problem is that there are still patients who are dissatisfied with the services in the Melati room of Raflesia Hospital, Bengkulu City. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between nurses' caring and patient satisfaction levels in the Melati inpatient room of Raflesia Hospital, Bengkulu City. This type of research is quantitative with a descriptive analytical approach and a cross-sectional design. The sample size was 95 people selected using purposive sampling technique. The data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis with the Chi-Square statistical test. The results showed that almost half (26.3%) stated that nurse caring was not good and almost half (30.5%) stated that they were dissatisfied. The results of the Chi-Square test showed a p value = 0.001, which means that there is a significant relationship between nurse caring and patient satisfaction in the Melati inpatient room of Rafesia Hospital, Bengkulu City. The conclusion is a significant relationship between nurse caring and patient satisfaction in the Melati inpatient room of Rafesia Hospital, Bengkulu City. It is recommended that the hospital, especially the Melati inpatient room, always carry out SOPs in every action.
2026-04-18T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Ilmu Kesehatan https://journal.bengkuluinstitute.com/index.php/JURIK/article/view/1436 THE EFFECT OF HEALTH PROMOTION USING ANIMATED VIDEOS ON TEETH BRUSHING PRACTICES OF GRADE V STUDENTS AT SDN 01 KABAWETAN 2025-08-26T06:08:21+00:00 Fitri Fatimah fitrifatimah241203@gmail.com Agus Riyanto agusriyanto@gmail.com Yuliza Andriyani Siregar yulizaas@gmail.com
Dental and oral health problems of school-age children are still a concern, especially due to the lack of understanding and skills in good and correct tooth brushing practices. Health promotion using animated video media is considered an interesting and effective educational approach to encourage clean and healthy living behavior in children. This study aims to determine the effect of health promotion using animated videos on tooth brushing practices in grade V students at SDN 01 Kabawetan. This study used a pre-experimental design with a one-group approach pretest-pogst design. The research sample was all 24 grade V students of SDN 01 Kabawetan who were taken using the total sampling technique. The data collected included primary data and secondary data, then analyzed using univariate analysis and bivariate analysis, paired t-test statistical tests. The results of the univariate analysis obtained an average value of student tooth brushing practice before being given health promotion of 5.63 and increased to 8.12 after the intervention. The results of the bivariate analysis obtained a p-value of 0.000. Health promotion using animated videos is effective in improving tooth brushing practices in students.
